Our Thickening Shampoo includes ingredients that really can deliver on enhancing the appearance of density and fullness. Formulated with pumpkin seed oil, turmeric root extract, saw palmetto, and caffeine – four ingredients supported by research to help with hair health and regrowth – our shampoo can make a difference. Great alone or used in combination with medical hair regrowth therapy. Lightly fragranced with a mild, gender-neutral scent. Lots of science, no misleading promises.

For best results, use with our Thickening Conditioner and Thickening Foam.

How To Use

Apply a quarter-sized amount of shampoo to wet hair, massaging in thoroughly. Gently rinse.

When To Use

Key Ingredients

Saw palmetto (Serenoa serrulata) extract is harvested from the berries of a palm-like plant. Though not as effective as prescription hair loss medications (finasteride and minoxidil), research shows that saw palmetto may help slow or stop hair loss by inhibiting the effects of DHT, the hormone most associated with male-pattern baldness.

Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) seed oil contains phytosterols, a plant version of cholesterol that’s been associated with hair growth. It’s thought that phytosterols block enzymes and hormones in the scalp associated with hair loss (such as DHT).

Curcumin, derived from turmeric root (Curcuma Longa) extract, has been shown in preclinical trials to lower levels of DHT by blocking the action of the alpha-5 reductase enzyme. Curcumin also acts as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and may also increase blood flow to the hair follicle.

Caffeine derived from coffee has been shown to help stimulate hair growth and halt hair loss by blocking the effects of DHT in hair follicles. It’s also been associated with stimulating hair shaft elongation (resulting in longer, denser hair) and speeding up the hair growth cycle.

Yes. Our Feel Confident haircare products are formulated to work synergistically. We recommend pairing our Thickening Shampoo with our Thickening Conditioner and Thickening Foam for optimal results.

How do I incorporate the Thickening Shampoo into my hair care routine?

We recommend cleansing with the Thickening Shampoo 2-3 times per week in the AM or PM and following with the Thickening Conditioner and Thickening Foam. Style as desired.

Is there fragrance added to the Thickening Shampoo?

Yes. We included fragrance to improve the sensory experience of the product. Our entire haircare line is still appropriate for sensitive skin types, after being thoroughly examined and dermatologist-tested by an outside research facility. We wanted to make sure that men and women equally enjoyed the experience of using our conditioner so we deliberately chose a gender-neutral, refreshing scent.

Is the Thickening Shampoo a replacement for topical minoxidil or finasteride?

No. Though we carefully formulated our Feel Confident haircare line with ingredients that have been shown by research to help with hair health and assist hair growth, they are not a replacement for medical therapy. Rather, our haircare line is complementary.

Can I use the Thickening Shampoo with hair care products from other lines?

Our products play well with others and can of course be used with products from other lines. However, too many products applied all at once can lead to irritation and damage. We recommend our paired down Feel Confident haircare routine to minimize extraneous products that could cause irritation, undue damage, or weigh hair down.
